Hi, I'm Emily Faulkner.

One of my pet peeves throughout life has been feeling rushed. Deadlines, hustle culture, family demands, the world's definition of success, 8-second tiktoks, reels and ads vying for our attention, can all make us feel pulled in many directions. Life seems to move forward at breakneck speed. Even when we have made an incredible achievement, we've barely had a chance to enjoy the significance of the moment before we're on to "the next thing".

My work invites the viewer to pause, and take a still moment to breathe in the scent of the flowers, feel the salty ocean breeze, enjoy the beauty of wholesome, every day things, from fresh cut fruit, to a lush meadow, to the smile of a loved one.

 

My work is for those who crave slow, intentional living, and a home that reflects the peace that it brings.​

Emily is based in Windsor, ON, Canada. She grew up in Puce, (now part of Lakeshore), ON, and her childhood dream was to become an artist. Along the way, she explored many other forms of creative expression--from dance, to singing, and even obtained a B.A. in theatre. After 4 years in a fast-paced position as a curator/editor for a faith-based periodical, Emily has returned to her artistic foundations. She enjoys painting landscapes/seascapes, trees, still lives, and portraits, working in oil pastel, watercolour, and acrylics.
